Marietta

In the bubble of her illusion
Tulips and peach blossoms
Pondering silently
A holiday in her heart
The choice came
Brutally wounding her

She saw through
The tarnished halo
She sensed it
The fading hope
And, she felt it
The regret in herself

Disturbance in the mirror
Betrayed her into thinking
She was subdued
It was unbecoming of her
She screamed
And, she screamed more

They came to her
In every form
With passion, with promise
With needs, with worship
She savored them
She turned bitter

Sunken in fragrance
Graciano whispered,
“Trust your heart
And let me shine”
She saw his silhouette
Coming off the walls

He came closer
He eyed deeper
He saw the pain
He felt the ache
He was willing
She was taken

There was a sign
They were meant to be
Her transient eyes
Broke into a tear
Stenched in guilt
She smiled softly
