Unhappily Did They Live Thereafter

The night was dark and starless.
Dreary lanes with no allusion of life.
Translucent rays of moon
Reflecting upon a dead tree.

The bungalow was situated amidst the forlorn lanes.
She sat timidly in a dimly lit corner.
Deep velvety red tapestry hanging by the wall.
Her apprehension swelling by the moments passing.

She felt hollow from inside.
She felt bruised from inside.
She was losing grip of her life.
She was losing the significance of her life.

The pieces of her heart battered and smashed.
The pieces of her soul scattered in front of her.

His words lingered on.
“I will go very far away.
I will never come back.
Although, I will never be able to forget you.
For you are my glistening dreams.
Your beauty is mesmerizing.
Your love is inconceivable.
You are the ray of hope,
At the end of a gloomy night.
You gave a new meaning to my life.
You taught me how to live.

The thought of leaving you rips my heart.
Everything seems to be falling apart.
Disheartened, I cry in agony.
For, I will never be able to elucidate.
I don’t know how I will survive without you.
My life is now a dark endless tunnel.”

She had stared at him in disbelief,
When he was walking away from her.
She had eyed his disillusioned structure,
Taking away with him, her quintessence.

She shuddered by the faint noise
She heard from a far away lane,
As she sat timidly in a dimly lit corner,
Waiting for him. Waiting endlessly.
Waiting for eternity.
